Home-Start North and West Gloucestershire celebrates 1st Birthday!
This month marks the 1st birthday for our charity Home-Start North and West Gloucestershire. Home-Start has been running in the Stroud and Cotswolds areas for around 20 years and these schemes have been and still are incredibly successful in terms of the quality and quantity of support to local families in need. Supporters of the scheme were very keen for the Home-Start support to be expanded to the rest of Gloucestershire and so Home-Start North and West Gloucestershire began its life in May 2019.
We cover The Forest of Dean, Cheltenham and Tewkesbury areas of Gloucestershire and employees and volunteers have worked hard over the past 12 months to develop and offer the tailored support that Home-Start is so well known for. We have been busy recruiting staff and applying for funding to ensure the scheme is robust and able to operate long term and we are very pleased to have received grants from the National Lottery and the Peter Lang Trust. We now have a full complement of staff and our groups and home visiting services are open for business.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions in place, we have moved all our groups into an online format and we are still helping families via telephone and online support. As soon as we are able, we look forward to getting back out into the community and providing early intervention services to families across our patch who may be struggling with the rigorous demands of family life and raising children.
